清淨道論所使用的「勝者」巴利原文就是「jina」(可意譯為勝者,或音譯為耆那)
清淨道論序文節錄(葉均 譯):

『…對於那在"❝勝者❞(世尊)教中已得難得的出家,
不得如實而知包攝戒等安穩正直的清淨道,
雖然欲求清淨而精進,可是不得到達清淨的瑜伽者;

我今依照大寺住者所示的理法,
為說能使他們喜悅極淨決擇的清淨道;
是故一切欲求清淨者,應當諦聽我的恭敬說。…』

Seekers gone forth from home to homelessness,
And who although desiring purity
Have no right knowledge of the sure straight way

To them I shall expound the comforting Path
Of Purification, pure in expositions,
Relying on the teaching of the dwellers
In the Great Monastery;
let all those Good men who do desire purity

我的問題:對於一個把「我勝、我等、我劣」等「我見」視為不如實知見因緣法/不如理作意的宗教(佛教)而言,在意圖闡述佛教教義的論著的序論處就直接把 釋迦牟尼佛稱為「勝者(Victor)」,是否適當?

Sīlādisaṅgahaṃ khemaṃ, ujuṃ maggaṃ visuddhiyā.

果不其然,清淨道論所使用的「勝者」巴利原文就是「jina」(可意譯為勝者,或音譯為耆那)。

在巴利字典當中,只有漢譯パーリ語辭典和水野弘元有老實的把「jina」的詞條意義內容寫上「耆那」,其他的巴利辭典都刻意迴避或是忽略了這一點。
